After more than two decades of delighting those in Jackson Hole, the JH Rodeo Company will split its time between Pinedale, Wyomine and Driggs, Idaho bringing at least five and as many as seven scheduled rodeos to the Teton County Idaho Fair Grounds this summer.
Tourism and our western culture are important aspects of Teton County’s economic vitality and Mr. Millward’s vision for a multifaceted rodeo program support the Chamber’s efforts to promote Teton County as a Western destination.
Although Millward said he was not going to try and hold rodeos during the Teton Valley Saddle Club’s annual Fourth of July Rodeo, he is looking forward to filling other days with team, breakaway and tie-down roping, as well as four classes of barrel racing, including peewee, junior, novice and open classes. Rough stock events, Millward said, will include saddle bronc, bareback, ranch saddle bronc and bull riding.

This property is located in a gorgeous part of southeast Idaho:
DHL Co-Founder’s Cuts
With two Idaho properties languishing on the market, DHL Worldwide Express delivery co-founder William Armsted Robinson has cut their prices by about 15% each. He’s now asking $14.5 million for his horse ranch and $12.5 million for a nearby fishing property.
The 72-year-old businessman, who finished selling his DHL stake in 2003, bought the lots in the 1990s and built homes and other structures on them. Mr. Robinson is selling because he’s spending more time in his hometown of Shreveport, La., a spokesman said. The 938-acre horse ranch borders a national forest and has indoor and outdoor arenas, stables and a veterinary clinic. There’s a pool, a tennis court and a hangar and airstrip, and 760 acres are under a conservation easement. The 600-acre fishing property, about 10 miles north, includes more than a mile of the Fall River. Roger Brink and Vance Moulton of Alta Realty have the listings, which came on the market in 2008 and 2006.

Teton Valley, Idaho is fortunate to have an amazing organization called Teton Valley Trails and Pathways made up of volunteer members who’s vision is the creation and maintenance of a “connected community.” The trails and pathways programs are the cornerstones of this connectivity. Some trails are designated for foot traffic only, or for foot and bicycle traffic. Others are “multiple use” and are shared with motorized recreational vehicles like dirt bikes and 4-wheelers as well. They work with the Caribou-Targhee National Forest’s office in Driggs to help maintain an extensive trail system on public lands surrounding the valley.
There is quite a variety of Nordic skiing in the Teton Valley. Teton Valley Trails and Pathways groom three venues -Teton Canyon, Alta, and Teton Springs-on a regular basis with environmentally friendly 4-stroke Yamaha snowmobiles. All TVTAP venues are free to the community. Maintenance and care are supported by donations and volunteers.
There are also several summer trails that are an experience that will not be forgotten. The Aspen Trail is one of the premiere hiking and biking trails in Teton Valley because of it’s accessibility. Located on the East side of the Valley this trail affords you wonderful views of the Valley. The Horseshoe Canyon Trail is not for the timid, but a newly routed addition makes getting to the Mount Manning Trail a much more obtainable objective. Loved by mountain bikers, and the robust hiker, this trail affords the rider a spectacular downhill experience with views of the Tetons that few get to lay their eyes on. The Jedediah Smith Wilderness Area accessed through multiple trails on the eastern side of Teton Valley, this area is a true gem. While most people are accessing the wilderness areas of Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone, the “Jed” Smith Wilderness remains quiet and full of splendor without the crowds.
These are just a few of the amazing trails available in Teton Valley that will help make your experience in our valley one you will never forget! For more information on Teton Valley’s trails and pathways visit www.tvtap.org.
