GREENHOUSE IN BLOOM

- High Altitude Gardening
I love to garden but it’s difficult to do in Wyoming at 6,300 ft. elevation. For the past twenty years I have endeavored to raise the perfect arugula, zucchini, peas, beans, etc. only to have them freeze to death in July. So my husband built me a greenhouse. The first one, a rather flimsy kit from Farm Tec, blew away in a freak 60 mile an hour storm last spring so this one was built to withstand everything from snowloads to high winds (which really don’t happen very often). I love walking into it and seeing the thermometer reading 80 degrees plus when it’s only 20 degrees outside. It’s my haven when cabin fever hits and a constant learning experience on what to plant where. It’s such a treat to see beautiful tomatoes, lettuce and cucumbers growing thru November…..and so much better tasting then store-bought.
